Important RFCs |

This is a list of those RFCs that I consider "important" to developers of networked applications. The documents listed here are linked to the RFC archive at ISI (the Information Sciences Institute of the University of Southern California, home of IANA.) First time visitors, please read my short page About This List. Last updated 2000.06.20 RFC CollectionsProtocols By Acronym - A handy table that will link you up with a protocol's RFC if you know its common acronym. Official Internet Protocols - A list of those few RFCs that specify official Internet protocols. Other Useful Protocols - A list of common protocols that aren't official protocols. (Yet!) Telnet Options Page - A table with all of the currently-recongnized options for the Telnet protocol. Humorous RFCs - Don't believe me? Click and see! NEXOR's RFC Index Search Form will let you search for RFCs, and then download them from any of a number of InterNIC mirror sites. By the way, I am considering adding other "focus pages" in the spirit of the Telnet options page, but I can't think of any that are pressing. Some that come to mind are all of the SNMP and IP-over-X RFCs, but I can't think of a really good reason for an application programmer to know much about the latter, and the former just doesn't seem pressing to me. If you think otherwise, please drop me a line. |
