The YJPS is a kind of successor to the popular STEPS, fixing its main weakness, that being that its output noise is no better than that of the much cheaper TREAD. The YJPS pulls its weight much better than the STEPS did.
Features of the YJPS:
Lower output noise, lower output impedance, and wider bandwidth than typical linear power supply designs (test results)
Accommodates Amveco 5 VA through 25 VA board-mount toroidal transformers
Transformer primary side easily configured for operation on any world power system
Transformer secondary side easily configured for parallel or series operation
Optional on-board AC line filter
Optional output overvoltage protection crowbar
Flexible smoothing capacitor options allow use of 10 mm through 35 mm diameter caps, giving atypical freedom in part selection
Discrete diodes in AC rectification stage allow use of high-end TO-220 and DO-201 diodes
Fits the popular Hammond 1455N16 case; board size is 100 mm × 160 mm
